Embrace Relief, in cooperation with Enes, will be establishing a scholarship fund for new college freshmen. Embrace Relief is an organization dedicated to assisting local communities in need and helping those who are struggling financially. The cost of higher education in the United States is incredibly high and is only continuing to rise. According to the College Board, the average cost of tuition and fees for the 2013–2014 school year was $30,094 at private colleges, $8,893 for state residents at public colleges and $22,203 for out-of-state residents attending public universities.
For the majority of students, the only way to attend college is through securing student loans, which oftentimes only cover the cost of tuition and neglect other necessary expenses. Because of this, Embrace Relief, along with Enes Kanter, is starting a scholarship program to offer scholarships to a number of hard-working high school seniors in the amount of $2,500 for the first year of their undergraduate studies.
